“Grossed Out” by Red Meat, Pregnant Katy Perry Craves Impossible Burgers

Singer-songwriter Katy Perry is expecting a child with actor Orlando Bloom—and is craving the plant-based Impossible Burger! “Foods that gross me out now are beef,” said the 35-year-old mother to be. “I’m not really into red meat, thank god for the Impossible Burger.”

Last year Katy joined fellow celebrities Jay-Z, Serena Williams, Jaden Smith, Trevor Noah, Will.i.am, Zedd, and more in investing in Impossible Foods. She even promoted Impossible Foods by wearing a vegan-burger costume to the Met Gala and in a Taylor Swift music video!

Katy’s fiancé seems to be just as big a fan of plant-based burgers as she is. In October of last year, Orlando Bloom posted an Instagram story of a Burger King Impossible Whopper sign with the caption “a road trip must.”

Impossible Foods’ crave-worthy burgers may soon be even more accessible. This month the company announced that it would cut an average of 15 percent of its product prices for U.S. distributors. These cuts are meant to be passed on to restaurants and then on to customers, making it easier for the plant-based beef to compete with conventional beef.

Impossible Foods’ chief executive officer, Patrick Brown, said:
Our stated goal since the founding of the company has always been to drive down prices through economies of scale, reach price parity and then undercut the price of conventional ground beef from cows. Today’s price cut is just the latest step toward our goal of eliminating animals in the food system.
The Impossible Burger is served at thousands of restaurants, including Burger King, Red Robin, the Cheesecake Factory, and the Hard Rock Cafe. And at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show—the world’s largest technology trade show—Impossible Foods debuted a brand-new product: Impossible Pork.
